Today, a quiz program was organized as part of the awareness campaign in the project "Greening With Goethe". Nithya and Abiraami organized the event and they were assisted by Madhu, Nive, Shreya, Niyaz and Vaishali.
The Quiz program consisted of 3 rounds. The first two rounds were eliminitation rounds and the third was the final round/
In all there were 11 participants.
The participants were:
1) Kumaran- IX
2) Vignesh- IX
3) Huzefa- IX
4) Purab Prasad- IX
5) Swaran Raj- IX
6) Poornima- VIII
7) Raghu- VIII
8) Ranjith Kumar- VIII
9) Vijayan- VIII
10) Manisha- VIII
11) Rishab- VIII
In the first round 10 questions were asked, as follows:
1. CD's emit..... when they are burnt.
2. Silver in CD's cause..... damage
3. What are the main three materials present in a CD?
4. World environment day is celebrated on......
5. What is the expansion of TNPCB?
6. What are the common methods of recycling CD's?
7. What are the main three toxic substances present in all e-waste?
8. What are the 4 'R's to make our environment pollution free?
9. How many steps are there in manufacturing process of CD's?
10. Tamil Nadu is the 2nd largest producer of e-waste because of large growth of ...... industry.
So.,5 were eliminated in the first round!
In the second round 2 were eliminated and the questions which was asked were as follows.,
1. Define E-waste.
2. When was TNPCB established?
3. India contributes..... tonnes of E-waste annually.
4. The labels on the CD's are printed by.....process.
5. Which city is in the top list in generating E-Waste?
In the final round there were 4 participants namely,
1. Kumaran
2. Purab
3. Poornima
4. Vijayan
The following are the 5 questions asked.,
1. ......city have exclusive E-waste dumping place.
2. Who invented the CD's?
3. How thick is a CD?
4. Are you aware of the awareness program on E-waste disposal organized by Anna university? If so name it?
5. .......pollution controlling system has been established by Tamil Nadu pollution control board in Tirupur and Erode.
Purab came 3rd
And there was a tie between Poornima and Kumaran..
So the tie break question was.,
1. Where does TNPCB's head office operated?
Kumaran gave the correct answer and he was adjudged as the winner.
The first prize went to Kumaran,
The second prize went to Poornima and
The third prize went to Purab.
